Øyvind Aadland is the Secretary General of Strømme Foundation in Kristiansand, Norway since 1st of January 2007.

Øyvind Aadland is a MTh from the Fee Faculty of Theology, Oslo. He has a MA in Communication from Wheaton College, USA. A PhD in Cross Cultural communication from Northwestern University, USA. He has exams in Amharic, a language he calls his second mother tongue, from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. He is also a graduate of African studies from Northwestern University USA. He has been seconded to the EECMY (The Lutheran Church of Ethiopia), where he held several pastoral and executive positions for many years. He has also worked at the Norwegian center for Human Rights at the University of Oslo, in a cooperation-project with the University in Addis Ababa.

Øyvind came from a position as an associate professor at Gimlekollen School of Journalism and Communication in Kristiansand, where he was the Director of the Extension and Consultancy Department. He has extensive experience from projects within education of Journalists in Ethiopia and Kosovo.

Øyvind is strongly committed to an inclusive partnership between sender and receiver in development.

He believes that solutions to the ground causes of poverty have to be approached holistically, via grass-root involvement in partnership with the communities and through advocacy to change unjust structures of political power both locally and internationally.

Øyvind is married with 3 children and 4 grandchildren and lives in Kristiansand, Norway.
